Candace Blevins delivers. EVERY. TIME.
By Riane Holt
As posted on Kinky Book Reviews:
As an avid reader of the genre, I'm tired of the cookie cutter perfect mind-reader Dom. It's been done. Repeatedly. I recently switched genres for a bit because I found myself in a reading rut.

I needed something different.

Shake me up.

Wake me up.

Break me up.

Put me through the emotional paces of a story well-told.

Show me someone who survives failure.

Show me someone who crashed and burned and still keeps trying to fly.

Candace Blevins delivers. EVERY. TIME.

The sheer intensity of Safeword: Arabesque is off the charts.

TRUST is the cornerstone of BDSM erotica. How do you handle it when your mentor fails you?

What happens when trust is broken? A fall out of catastrophic proportions.

I physically hurt during several scenes and had to put down the kindle and walk away. (Only to run back moments later because I HAD TO KNOW how the story ended). The emotional angst was powerful and haunting.

Safeword: Arabesque is a story of redemption. The author didn't take the easy way out..., it was gritty and raw. Never have I seen such horrifically beautiful characters that were so damned real. While the scorching hot sex scenes may be an unattainable dream for a lot of women, it is the incredibly empathetic characters that keep this book grounded in reality. Losing yourself in a good book is always wonderful..., but when you actually find yourself in a good book, it is nothing short of phenomenal.

Hope, despair, friendship, redemption, faith in one another and faith in the dynamic of the relationship... Arabesque is an absolute roller coaster of emotion. Strap in, have tissues ready... and go on another phenomenal journey with Candace Blevins.

Brilliant book from a brilliant author
By Robin (Sizzling Hot Books)
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Candace Blevins has quickly vaulted to my list of favorite authors. Every book of hers that I have read has received top reviews. Her newest book Safeword Arabesque fits perfectly amongst this group of high quality books.

Ms. Blevins is known for her intense writing especially regarding the pain aspect of some BDSM relationships. Safeword Arabesque was just as intense except this time the intensity was much more emotional than physical. This time the focus was on how a BDSM relationship develops and how the bonds not only change, but strengthen over time. Don’t get me wrong, there is still a lot of hot, steamy and sometimes painful sex.

Life was simple enough for Cassie. She had friends, a job she loved, and martial arts as an outlet for her physical needs. All that changed when she discovered her friend Frisco’s kinky secrets. Now she’s having all these confusing thoughts and feelings. Frisco agrees to train Cassie alongside his current submissive Cameron.

Eventually Frisco’s own hang-ups cause a rife with both of his subs and they have to move on without Frisco. Cassie thinks she’s found what she needs with another Dom, but sometimes fate has a wicked sense of humor.

It takes a crisis to bring everyone back together and Cassie’s men must work with each other to take care of her. With two Doms and two submissives all living together, things get interesting pretty fast.

In fact, it’s these four characters that elevate Safeword Arabesque to a whole other level. Ms. Blevins gave all four equal attention so that the reader is blessed with four complete, well-developed and believable characters. Yet each one was different and Ms. Blevins made sure that their differences were why this relationship could work. I was able to understand why each did what they did and how they could both contribute to and benefit from this unusual connection.

Then as if fantastic characters weren’t enough, the reader is given a storyline with enough twists and turns to keep you intrigued and enough heart and soul to keep you thinking about it long after you have finished the book. With four different leads and a wide variety of couplings, it could have been confusing and muddled. Instead the story flowed naturally and effortlessly.

Ms. Blevins writes fictional tales with so much authenticity and depth that you find yourself immersed in the characters lives as if they were your family. Each one makes mistakes because that’s what people do. But they pick themselves up, learn and come out better for having made the mistake.

Her understanding and explanations of BDSM relationship contribute to the authentic style. Ms. Blevins is one of very few authors who can explain a 24/7 slave lifestyle in such a manner as to not only show why someone would choose this lifestyle, but also to showcase the beauty of it even if it’s not your kink.

While Arabesque may be mild in terms of the other books in the series, fans of Ms. Blevins and the series shouldn’t worry that she’s going soft. There is still plenty of pain and punishment. The sex is still just as hot and steamy as it is in the other books in the series. And with four leads, Ms. Blevins was able to get very creative.

After reading and reviewing many of the Safeword series, I know that I’m always saying the same thing – the book is fantastic, Ms. Blevins’ writing is awesome and you really must read the book. But that’s because it is and you should. Count me in as a HUGE fan. I can’t wait to see what she writes next.

WOW!!!!
By DiDi - Guilty Pleasures BR
I was so looking forward to Arabesque because it was killing me not knowing what was going to happen to Frisco, Cassie and Cam. Well, to my surprise, it didn't go the way that I thought it would. But, I loved the twist Candace Blevins did take with the book.

Ladies, meet Master Isaac. Please, don't swoon or pass out but ogle all you want. A gentleman, a Master, a Dom, a Sadist of the first degree. And, giving Frisco a run for his money with both Cassie and Cam. The twist … well, no spoilers here!

Again, there is a warning with Safeword: Arabesque as there was in No Safeword: Happily Ever After. Cassie, Frisco and Cam are spotlighted in the Matte Series but, if you haven't read them, you will have no problem reading Arabesque as a stand-alone. But I do highly recommend, if you like BDSM romances, that you read anything that you could get your hands on by Candace Blevins.

There is so much that happens in Arabesque that bring Frisco, Cassie, Cam and Isaac apart and then together that, summarizing the story gives too much away. Suffice it to say that Frisco has some demons that he has to face and it takes losing Cassie and Cam for him to realize what it is that is missing in his life. Opening his heart is going to be the toughest thing he has done in his life. Then he has to face his family as he admits that he's in love … with a man and a woman. But, to get Cassie and Cam to trust him again, he will do whatever it takes.

Enter Master Isaac. As he takes Cassie under his wing and starts falling in love with her, he ends up facing some cold, hard facts. Cassie is the Submissive that he always wanted but may be out of reach to him when he finds out who began showing her the BDSM lifestyle. It all comes together when she tells him her safeword: Arabesque.

Cassie and Cam become best of friends when Frisco throws Cam out of his house for declaring his love for him. Together they start building their lives without Frisco until Cassie lives through the biggest nightmare of her life. Frisco is back … he refuses to leave and is begging both of them for forgiveness. With the help of Isaac, Frisco is able to open up to Cam and they start rebuilding their relationship. Cassie is being stubborn and doesn't know if she wants to trust her heart to a man that will not give her what she needs.

There is a solution though and as Cassie and Cam both start falling in love with Master Isaac, Frisco has to face the fact that there is only one way for everything to work out the way they want it. It's time for him to submit to Isaac, stop treating Cassie with kid gloves, give Cam everything that he is asking for and build the life that they all want, together.

Filled with explicit BDSM, extreme BDSM, erotic scenes that will have you squirming in your seat, Candace Blevins weaves a tale of love, trust and sexuality. She brings together four people from different backgrounds, all with fears that have to be faced to move forward. She brings to life a tale of a survivor in only the way that Candace Blevins could – with love and understanding. She brings to life a tale of a man with a fear that he does not think he could overcome but bears the training so that he could be a part of their lives. Together they form a unit, face their families and begin their lives together.
